A video has surfaced on YouTube of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. delivering a church speech in which he uses the N-word, de-grades North Carolina, and accuses Newt Gingrich of attempting to block blacks from entering the middle class.
Gates became a lightning rod of racial controversy when President Obama defended the professor, who was handcuffed outside his home last week by police in Cambridge, Mass.

As there is no listing of party officers or their email addresses on the NCGOP website, I have emailed your staff in hope that it reaches you.
The Carolina Stompers recently filed a complaint with the NC State Board of Elections regarding the 11th Congressional District Republican Party. I am to understand that money was received and disbursed for a convention after a letter of "Non-Compliance and Termination of Active Status" was issued. Our concerns were with several letters from the State Board of Elections of violations and assessments.
They are as follows: 1. Non-Compliance Letter - 02/26/2008 2. Notice of Termination of Active Status - 04/08/2008 3. Penalty Assessment Letter #1 - 05/22/2008 4. Penalty Assessment Letter #2 - 07/31/2008
We received a phone call from the State Board of Elections saying that the 11th CDRP is in "Active Status" of 8/1/08. As of 7/27/09, (over 1 year later), it does not reflect on their website as seen in the above link. I find that strange.
After several attempts of speaking with 11th CDRP Chairman Steve Duncan I have not been able to receive a copy of the 11th CDRP finance report given at the last convention in Haywood County. I was told by Mr. Duncan that I could find it on some kind of a national site but could not find it even with the help of one of the sites techs. Mr. Duncan then told me to go to the 11th CDRP website. Their website takes you directly to a calendar and you are not able to link to other parts of the site. It doesn't even link back to you at the NCGOP. Mr. Duncan then said he would email it to me but he never did.
I find the actions of Mr. Duncan also strange. Is there something in the finance report he doesn't want people to see?

My reply - Stings? No, just stung. The swelling has gone down and the Benydrel was Johnson. The BCGOP is in the best shape it has ever been because of Johnson. The BCGOP now communicates with it's people. It dropped the dead wood that slowed the party down and put new people that "want to work" instead of wine. It is becoming what I always wanted it to be - a family.
But the bottom line is money and image. With Johnson now in a state position, I think you will see more money coming from the state party to county Republicans. The image thing is genuine, (unlike the Dems), it's just going to take some money to get it out there.
As for Johnson's successor - It will be the BCGOP vice chair until the next convention. He has a lot of support to help him and is a good man.
Republicans have a candidate for BC District Attorney and one to run against Shuler. More may even come forward. I'm letting people know this but keeping the names lip tight for now.
Republicans running for Asheville City Council have a lot to offer. Dr. Carl Mumpower has a proven track record and relates to conservatives and moderate Democrats. The two newcomers, J. Neal Jackson and Ryan Croft are beginning to open their war chest.
Get ready to see John Carrols name on Susan Fishers office door in Raleigh. Leicester is going to come out strong against Fisher because she supports forced annexation.
I hear Nesbitt is going to have a primary and he too is going to have it ruff in Leicester. But win or loose they will not stop the Republicans candidate.
The momentum the Democrats had with the Obama campaign is going to backfire in the next election. Obamas approval rating is falling daily and Americans are waking up. Democrat friends of mine that voted for Obama tell me they are “ashamed”. The brainwashed that still worship Obama like Democrat candidates Gordon Smith and Cecil Bothwell just don’t cut it outside of downtown Asheville.
The BCGOP is not in shambles. Yes they have their snakes like Steve Duncan and his nest of friends, but the Blue Dogs in the Democrat party do as well. The BCGOP is advertising their principles and standing behind them, organizing behind the scenes, and raising money. Republicans, Libertarians, Independents, and even some Democrats have come together in the BCGOP. They all may have some differences, but the goal is the same - Stand proud as a registered Republican and defeat supporters of Democrat socialism.
VIDEO - Public Access TV Exective Director Pat Garlinghouse & along with Board Member Ralph Roberts - "No Filming without Permission".
URTV receives tax dollars, (they say fees), and is required to follow NC Open Board Meeting Laws however Mr.Roberts & Mrs. Garlinhouse has some unheard rule that everyone on the Board must give their permission. Filming can be aired on TV & Internet which Mrs. Garlinghouse along with Mr.Ralph Roberts says it can't. A few days later Mrs. Garlinhouse was called to re-sign Buncombe County resolution which includes complying to Open Board Meeting Laws of North Carolina.

A little bit of excitement happened the other night at URTV and I was there to catch some of it.
Citizen Speak TV Show host Don Yelton, (professor at Montreat College), had to teach a class tonight and asked me to be a guest with Yeltons co-host Harry Marroni.
I walked in the URTV studio and sat down in my chair about 30 seconds before the show went “Live”.
This lady walked in the room ranting and raving, wanting to know who was the producer of the Citizens Speak Show. The guy running the mixer board said Don Yelton. The lady then yelled “I’m having him suspended”, and slammed the door behind her.
Come to find out, one of the other guests on the show was a guy named Allen Rosenthal. Rosenthal was seen on WLOS News complaining about a show he saw on URTV where a guy dipped cigarettes in gasoline and told people to smoke it. He also raised concerns at a Asheville City Council meeting about the criminal history of a person the City of Asheville was about to put on the URTV board.
The lady Rosenthal had concerns about was at URTV tonight and apparently (before I got there) barged into the studio raising all kinds of hell about Rosenthal being there. Co-host Harry Marroni had to yell at her to leave because they were about to go on the air in a few minutes.
To my understanding, the sound guy then began hooking up a mic to Rosenthal and noticed he was carrying a gun. 20 minutes in the “Live” broadcast, Rosenthal, (licensed to carry a concealed weapon), was asked to leave the broadcast by a police officer.
Apparently, Pat Garlinghouse, (URTV Director), called the police and told them that Rosenthal was not allowed in the building with a firearm. Rosenthal and the police officer walked outside and then Rosenthal put his gun in his car. He then came back and rejoined the show.
Well, I had to leave at 8:30 to go to work. But apparently, another person barged in on the “Live” show and called Don Yelton (who was not there) a “bigot”.
Marroni told me that someone threw a camera in his face after the show in the lobby. Marroni asked the lady that was ranting and raving for an apology. I don’t think he got one.
After I left my office, I returned to URTV to see if there was any signs posted not to bring a firearm on the premises. There was no signs anywhere.
Yelton forwarded me Pat Garlinghouse’s phone message. She want’s to suspend the Citizens Speak Show.
What my opinion? The Citizens Speak Show (a “Live” call in show) has been devastating to the liberals. There are a lot of people in local politics that want to see it go away.
Yelton also believes that URTV should be open with there operating procedures and there finances since they receive fees, (tax money), and are governed by the Buncombe County Commissioners and the City of Asheville. But to my understanding, URTV management want’s to keep everything hush, hush! Why? What is there to hide?
The next chain of events is going to be intresting.
